Description
Easily identified by its powder-blue face, rump and underparts. Female is usually slightly paler blue, often with buffy flanks and vent. Juv. is paler than female, with blue restricted to its face and throat.
Voice
Piercing ‘sree-seee-seee’, sometimes with melodic warbles; also dry ‘krrt’ notes.
Status and biology
Common resident and local nomad in dry woodland, savanna and gardens. Breeds singly or in loose colonies.
